Accommodations

UCF strives to create a proactively accessible community that meets the needs of all individuals. At times, there may be a need to request accommodations if there are remaining barriers to participation.

Disabilities may fall into one of the following diagnostic categories but may also be present in additional ways:

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Blind or Low Vision
  • Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Intellectual Disability
  • Orthopedic
  • Health Conditions
  • Mental Health Conditions
  • Specific Learning Disability
  • Speech/Language Disability
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Temporary Disability (Broken arm/hand/leg, concussion, etc…)

Accommodations for Students

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) provides academic accommodations to students with disabilities. Students with disabilities who want to learn more about academic accommodations should go to the SAS website.

Accommodations for Employees

The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) facilitates requests for workplace accommodations for employees with disabilities and monitors the University’s compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Accommodations for UCF Events and Guests

Members of the public with disabilities who will visit UCF and need accommodation should contact the Office of Institutional Equity for more information.

UCF hosts multiple large events where individuals with disabilities may need more information related to accommodation and accessibility.

Commencement

  • Graduates in need of accommodations for the UCF Commencement ceremonies should review the Graduation Accommodation page.
  • Guests in need of information regarding accessibility for the UCF Commencement ceremonies should review the Guest Accessibility Needs page.

Athletic events

The accessibility of each athletic facility and event varies. Please visit the UCF Athletics site for more information.

If you plan to attend an event at UCF and are unsure of the process to find accessibility information or request accommodation, please complete the Event Accommodation Request form and a team member will get back to you.
