Admission to the University of Central Florida is competitive. UCF receives more than 70,000 undergraduate applications each year and capacity does not exist to offer admission to every applicant. The Admissions Committee conducts a thorough review of all applications, and each student is considered for all terms, pathways and programs available. Students who are denied admission – or are offered admission for a term other than the term they selected on their application – have a right to appeal their admission decision.

Appeal Criteria

Successful appeals are rare without new and compelling information that was not available at the time of initial review. These are the scenarios under which students can appeal their admission decision:

  • New or updated academic credentials are now available. Standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, CLT), first semester senior grades, and/or updated college grades must be submitted with the appeal request.
  • Learning differences, medical issues, and/or other circumstances impacted the student’s academic performance. Documentation must be submitted with the appeal request.

Appeal Process

  • Appeals must be submitted by the student on their Future Knights Portal. Appeals submitted by anyone on behalf of the student will not be reviewed.
  • Personal interviews are not part of the appeal process. All information the student wants considered must be in writing and submitted as part of the appeal.
  • DO NOT submit an appeal until new supporting academic credentials (e.g., updated senior grades and/or test scores) are received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
  • Appeals are sent back to the Admissions Committee for review at the time that updated credentials are received and are typically reviewed within three weeks. They will not be held for future grades or scores.
  • Students can appeal their admission decision only once. The committee’s decision is the final decision for the university.
  • Falsifying or mischaracterizing records or letters of support will result in the original decision being upheld and may preclude future applications for admission from being approved in accordance with UCF’s Code of Conduct.
  • Please note that a strong desire to attend UCF alone does not constitute a reason to appeal your admission decision.
