The Bachelor of Science in Economics is designed for students who wish to develop a stronger foundation in Economics. Flexibility to select from a variety of courses, both within and outside of the College of Business, allows students to customize their education to their personal interests and career goals. An Economics degree provides quantitative, analytical and computer programming skills for careers in all areas of business, including but not limited to healthcare, banking, business analysis and consulting. This degree also provides a strong foundation for future graduate studies in economics, business, law and public administration. Successful completion of this program leads to the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Economics. Not eligible for a double degree with the BSBA in Business Economics.

Degree Requirements
- Students who change degree programs and select this major must adopt the most current catalog requirements.
- General Education Program and Common Program Prerequisite courses are usually completed in the first 60 hours.
- Students must earn a "B" or higher in QMB 3003 and QMB 3200 (or a "C" or higher in the equivalent calculus and statistics courses). In addition, only grades of "C" or higher transfer into the program and students must earn a minimum of "C" or higher in all courses applied to the major. This includes all courses under requirements Common Program Prerequisites (CPP), Core Requirements: Advanced Level, and Restricted Electives.
- Students enrolled in UCF’s Honors Undergraduate Thesis (HUT) program who complete ECO 4903H (3 units) and ECO 4970H (3 units), and then successfully defend their thesis can substitute ECO 4970H for one restricted elective course in the major.
- The College of Business does not permit Common Program Prerequisites, Primary Core, Secondary Core, Capstone, or any major/elective course to be taken on an elective S/U grading basis.

- Students majoring in Economics must earn a grade of "C" or better in each ECO, ECP, and ECS course and in every course applied towards the major, as well as a 2.0 overall average in the major.
- Students are required to complete the comprehensive exit exam in Economics.
- Students should take the comprehensive exit exam in their final semester.
University Minimum Exit Requirements
- A 2.0 UCF GPA
- 42 semester hours of upper division credit completed
- 60 semester hours earned after CLEP awarded
- 30 of the last 39 hours of course work must be completed in residency at UCF.
- A maximum of 45 hours of extension, correspondence, CLEP, Credit by Exam, and Armed Forces credits permitted.
- Complete the General Education Program, the Gordon Rule, and nine hours of Summer credit.
