Spanish for Tourism Undergraduate Certificate

Admission Requirements

• Students must demonstrate a foreign language proficiency in Spanish equivalent to third-year college level to be admitted to the certificate.

Certificate Requirements

• For degree-seeking students, certificates will be awarded only at time of degree completion.

  • HFT3512 - Event Promotion (3)
  • SPN4410 - Advanced Spanish Conversation (3)
  • SPT3414 - Spanish for Tourism I (3)

Restricted Electives

• Complete all of the following
  • A list of approved restricted elective courses is found in the myKnight audit.
  Hospitality Courses
  • Complete at least 1 of the following:
    • HFT3540 - Guest Services Management I (3)
    • HFT3700 - Tourism Management (3)
  Spanish Courses
  • Complete at least 1 of the following:
    • SPN3344 - Advanced Spanish Native Fluency I (3)
    • SPN3345 - Advanced Spanish Native Fluency II (3)

Foreign Language Requirements

• None

Other Requirements

• A minimum grade of "C" (2.0) is required in all courses used to satisfy the certificate.
• At least 12 hours used in the certificate must be earned at UCF within the participating departments.
• No credit by exam (TSD, Military credit) may be used.
• Independent study and substitute courses/new courses are allowed at the director's discretion.
