Statistics Minor

Statistical methods are used in a wide variety of administrative, social, biological, and physical sciences. Employers and members of graduate admissions committees understand the importance of a background in statistics. Earning a Minor in Statistics can give you an important edge in your career as you complete your undergraduate studies.

Minor Requirements

• A minimum grade of "C" (2.0) is required in all courses used to satisfy the minor.
• At least 15 hours used in the minor must be earned at UCF within the Department of Statistics and Data Science.

Prerequisite Courses

• Students must satisfy each course's prerequisites before enrolling in the class.

    • STA4164 - Statistical Methods III (3)
  • Complete at least 1 of the following:
    • STA2023 - Statistical Methods I (3)
    • STA3032 - Probability and Statistics for Engineers (3)

Restricted Electives

• Complete all of the following
  • Earn at least 9 credits from the following types of courses: Select from upper division STA prefix courses taught within the Statistics and Data Science Department.
  • NOTE: STA 3032 - Probability and Statistics for Engineers CANNOT be used as a restricted elective.
