The Substitute Teaching Certificate is designed for undergraduates who want to prepare themselves for substitute teaching assignments in PK-12 schools. This certificate does not lead to teacher certification or admission to the College of Community Innovation and Education. The certificate is appropriate for students who are seeking an enhanced understanding of how to be an effective substitute teacher in PK-12 school classrooms, or for those who are considering a future career as a fully certified teacher. This certificate may also strengthen the marketability of students' major programs. This certificate is available for students in the 2006 catalog year and beyond.
