Adrienne “Addie” Dove

Biography

Dr. Addie Dove is a planetary scientist and Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Central Florida. She received her BS in Physics from the University of Missouri, and her PhD in Astrophysical and Planetary Science from the University of Colorado – Boulder. Her main research interests are in dust charging and dynamics on planetary surfaces, planet formation, and plasma interactions with planetary and spacecraft surfaces. She is particularly interested in these topics because understanding these phenomena is key to successful planetary exploration and will be increasingly important as we continue to explore the Moon, asteroids, and beyond. She explores these processes through experiments in the lab and on research flights (with parabolic aircraft, suborbital vehicles, the International Space Station, and CubeSats). She is the Deputy-PI of the NASA SSERVI-funded Center for Lunar and Asteroid Surface Science. With planetary scientist Kerri Donaldson Hanna, Dove is helping to lead $35 million mission that in 2026 will land a spacecraft on a part of the moon never visited before, the Gruithuisen Domes.
