Biography

Amy Giroux is a historian, author and public speaker in the field of history. Her innovative research methods and unwavering commitment to uncovering the stories of veterans have significantly enriched our understanding of the past.

For many years, Giroux has been a dedicated faculty member at the University of Central Florida. Her leadership in the Florida-France Soldier Stories project has been instrumental. This project aims to illuminate the lives of Florida soldiers interred in the American Battle Monuments Commission cemeteries in France. Through this initiative, Giroux encourages students to engage in historical research, providing them with a unique opportunity to humanize critical periods such as the Great Depression and World War II.

Beyond her teaching and research, Giroux actively participates in initiatives that enhance the educational experience for her students and contribute to the broader academic community.
