Biography

Damla Turgut serves as chair of the UCF Department of Computer Science. Turgut’s research studies Value of Information (VoI) on wireless networks including underwater and vehicular, Internet of Things (IoT) enabled health care, Augmented Reality, and data analytics and machine learning. Turgut is part of the multidisciplinary research at the UCF Resilient, Intelligent and Sustainable Energy Systems (RISES) Cluster. She is co-director of the AI Things Laboratory, with projects ranging from machine learning foundations to practical applications in assistive robotics, smart medical devices, smart homes and environments.
