Biography

Kelly Kibler studies the interaction of physical-biological systems, including self-repairing oyster reefs for coastline protection. Her water resources lab in the Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering Department of the University of Central Florida focuses on ecohydraulics, which is the integrated study of coupled physical and biological variables in natural and engineered aquatic systems. Kilber’s work targets the intersections of water resources engineering and aquatic ecology, in rivers and estuaries of Florida and around the world.

She received her B.S. in environmental science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her M.S. in forest engineering and Ph.D. in water resources engineering from Oregon State University.
