Biography

Mohamed Abdel-Aty’s research involves making transportation systems safer, using innovative data analytics and visualization systems, including simulations, to help operators and decision makers make proactive decisions that can avoid crashes. Policy examples resulting from data can include reduced speed limits, increased messages about hazards, or changes to roadway designs. Abdel-Aty serves as deputy director of the Center for Advanced Transportation Systems Simulation.
