Biography

Mohsen Rakhshan is a cognitive neuroscientist whose lab work involves neural engineering with a focus on neural prosthesis and brain-machine interfaces. Rakhsan’s ongoing research includes the development of non-invasive technologies to for sensory restoration in individuals with upper limb amputation, neuromorphic encoding and sensory information compression, scalable tactile sensing for use in robotic arms, and development of intuitive force and posture control for robotic hands.

Rakhshan is a technical reviewer for several journals in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, and neuroscience including IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning, IEEE transaction on Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Cognitive and Developmental Systems, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and CyberneticsNeurocomputing, and PLOS Computational Biology.
