Biography

Dr. Otto Phanstiel IV is a full professor in the Department of Medical Education with a specialty in medicinal chemistry.

Dr. Phanstiel’s research focus is developing new therapies for human diseases such as pancreatic, breast, and colorectal cancers, and viral infections. His lab is also working to develop anti-aging medicines that increase organismal lifespan.

He holds a Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Florida, where he also did his post-doctoral fellowship.
