Biography

Qun Zhou “Q.Z.” Sun’s research work uses analytics to forecast efficiency in energy systems. Sun serves as director of the Smart Infrastructure Data Analytics Lab (SIDAL) at UCF, looking to solve challenges in the energy field from the grid to buildings. The researchers focus on grid edge components including HVAC, solar panels and batteries with the goal of improving energy efficiency, building intelligence and customer engagement through advanced data analytics, probabilistic modeling and optimization schemes.
