Biography

Samik Bhattacharya’s research interests include unsteady fluid dynamics, experimental fluid mechanics and aerodynamics, flow control, and fluid-structure interactions. His work in the Experimental Fluid Mechanics Lab involves the broad field of experimental fluid mechanics spanning multiple length scales. Researchers are particularly interested in problems related to unsteady hydro and aerodynamics, fluid-structure interaction, flow control, and turbulence.

Bhattacharya joined UCF’s College of Engineering and Computer Science as an assistant professor in 2016. He received his doctoral degree in aerospace engineering from The Ohio State University, his master’s degree in aerospace engineering from Auburn University and his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the National Institute of Technology in Warangal, India. He is also a researcher with UCF’s Center for Advanced Turbine and Energy Research.
