Biography
Dr. Wasserstrom is board certified in Lifestyle Medicine, one of the first-ever cohort of medical professionals to become board certified in this field. She also holds a Culinary RX certificate, a nutrition certification that healthcare professionals can prescribe to their patients for prevention, treatment and lifestyle health. She has a particular interest in the relationship between health and a whole foods, plant-based diet. She also practices at UCF Health.
She holds a Doctorate in Medicine from Technion Israel Institute of Technology. She completed her residency and internship in Internal Medicine at North Shore University Hospital of Manhasset in New York, and received her graduate education from Touro College School of Health Sciences in New York, focusing on the Biological and Physical Sciences. In 2017, Dr. Wasserstrom became board certified in Lifestyle Medicine, one of the first-ever cohort of medical professionals to become board certified in this field.
Wasserstrom joined the UCF College of Medicine in 2019. She has over 15 years of experience in outpatient care within internal medicine. She has held several public speaking engagements in the community, including two presentations on the power of a whole food, plant-based diet in medicine and a presentation at a local elementary school on how to read nutrition labels. She has also been recognized by the New York State Diabetes Campaign for her initiatives to improve clinical care, and for excellence in the delivery of quality care from the Bridges to Excellence program.
