UCF is closely monitoring Subtropical Storm Nicole. Campus operations are normal at this time.

While the size and strength of the storm are expected to be smaller and less severe than Hurricane Ian, we may reach a time where it is unsafe to be outside or on the road.

By 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, with consideration for the latest forecasts, UCF will provide an update about classes and operations for Wednesday evening and Thursday, giving our community more than 24-hours’ notice to prepare for possible sheltering in place during the storm.

Even if classes are canceled, UCF Housing will remain open and operational through the storm for all residents.

Please get your storm preparations in order and review your personal hurricane safety plans before the onset of severe weather. Now is the time to restock your hurricane kit, which should include enough food and water for three days, along with any necessary medications. Students who need to purchase additional food or supplies can ride grocery shuttles Tuesday from the main and Downtown campuses to nearby Publix stores.

The UCF Alert text and email message system will be used to keep the university community informed. All students and employees automatically are signed up to receive these messages, and settings can be updated via https://www.getrave.com/login/ucf.
