The John T. Washington Center with its signature covered breezeway offers students and visitors shopping, dining, banking and student services. It is centrally located on UCF’s main campus between the Student Union and The John C. Hitt Library. The John T. Washington Center averages 35,000 to 40,000 visitors per day. Tenants include UCF Barnes & Noble Bookstore, Chick-fil-A, UCF Card Services, FAIRWINDS Credit Union, The Spot Print & Ship Store, Addition Financial, UCF Victim Services, Skate Shop at UCF, Revamp at UCF.
Built in 1979, this 40,000 square foot building was the original Student Union. It was later named after Dr. John T. Washington, an Associate Professor of Sociology who passed away in 1983. The renaming of the structure was a tribute to his university and community accomplishments.
