UCF’s annual welcome week –– Pegasus Palooza –– begins tomorrow as the Fall 2019 semester kicks off next week. To make the most out of these special events check out the list below and plan ahead. Students will need to bring their UCF ID to participate in each event. You can also find more details about some of these events on the UCF Mobile app.
Palooza Carnival – Aug. 23 | 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. | Memory Mall
This welcome carnival is the only free event open to students, their family members and other guests. There will be a variety of activities, food and promotional items for all to enjoy.
Move–in Pool-ooza – Aug. 24 | 3 p.m. | RWC Leisure Pool
Enjoy fun in the sun with games like human curling, free food, refreshing cold treats from the UCF FreshU Mobile and great live music.
LINK Launch – Aug. 24 | 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. | Addition Financial Arena
Meet new people and enjoy inflatables, mystery activities, food and take-home goodies during the kickoff event for the LINK program. This involvement-based program rewards students with LINK Loot, or points, for attending campus events each semester. At the end of each semester students may use those points to redeem items at special events.
The Knighting – Aug. 25 | 4 p.m. | Addition Financial Arena
This is the official welcome event and a requirement for new students at UCF. You will hear from campus leadership about why it’s great to be a Knight and what is expected as members of our community. Faculty and staff are also welcome to attend. Doors open at 3 p.m.
Opening Knight – Aug. 25 | 5 p.m. | Student Union
If you’re looking to get involved, develop a new passion or meet people, this event will help you connect with hundreds of student organizations at UCF. There will also be free food, music, games and prizes.
Comedy Knight with Pete Davidson – Aug. 26 | 7 p.m. | Addition Financial Arena
SNL’s Pete Davidson is the headlining act for this year’s Comedy Knight. Faculty, staff and guests may purchase tickets here.
Taste of UCF – Aug. 27 | 11 a.m. | Pegasus Ballroom in the Student Union
Join the Multicultural Student Center for a taste of food from around the world. There will be also be performances, promo items and much more.
LINK’s Amazing Race – Aug. 27 | 5:15 p.m. | Cape Florida Ballroom in the Student Union
During a campus-wide scavenger hunt, students will solve riddles and puzzles, find hidden wonders around campus, and discover beneficial campus resources. The top 5 teams will receive Orlando attraction tickets.
Concert Knight with blackbear – Aug. 27 | 7 p.m. | Addition Financial Arena
Singer, songwriter and record producer blackbear is the featured act for this year’s Concert Knight.
Welcome Expo – Aug. 28 | 10 a.m. | Pegasus Ballroom in the Student Union
Hosted by First Year Advising, this showcase of UCF clubs, organizations and departments as well as local area businesses helps you become familiar with what UCF has to offer.
Knight Rave – Aug. 28 | 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. | Addition Financial Arena
Live DJs spin EDM, Dubstep and House music during the ultimate opportunity to have fun during the first week of school.
Lavender Brunch – Aug. 29 | 10 a.m. | Pegasus Ballroom in the Student Union
Discover LGBTQ+ resources located across the UCF campus, as well as community partners within the Central Florida community.
UCF Football Game vs. FAMU – Aug. 29 | 7:30 p.m. | Spectrum Stadium
Cheer on our Knights as they take on FAMU in their season opener. Students will need to reserve tickets through UCFStudentTix.com in order to attend. During game week, guest tickets may be purchased online for $28 or through the Addition Financial Arena box office for $25.
Movie Knight – Aug. 30 | 8 p.m. | Lake Claire
Join Campus Activities Board in a showing of Aladdin at Lake Claire with free popcorn and refreshments. In the event of rain, the showing will be moved to room 218 of the Student Union.
Pegasus Palooza Day of Service – Aug. 31 | 8 a.m. | Student Union Patio
Serve with volunteer organizations like UCF Arboretum, Clean the World, SERV and more to help those in need locally. After signing in with Volunteer UCF, students will be bused to a service location in the Orlando community or walk to an on-campus location before a brief post-event celebration.
