UCF guard Briahanna Jackson was named the Conference USA Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week on Monday. It marks the second time this season she has been bestowed with the honor.
Jackson continued her campaign for C-USA Freshman of the Year with her impressive statline of 47 points, 15 rebounds and 14 steals between UCF’s two victories last week.
In front of a national television audience, Jackson put up a team-high 18 points and swiped seven steals in the win over Marshall.
She then helped lead UCF to its first sweep of Memphis since 2009 with a game-high 29 points for the sixth 20-point game of her career. She added a career-high matching 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the year and again recorded seven steals. Jackson netted 12 free throws in the game, the most by a Knight this season, to help UCF break the 21-year-old school record for free throws in a game (33).
With her 14 steals, Jackson upped her season total to 80, which is one shy of ranking in UCF’s top-five single-season leaders.
