Money – we all need it, strive for it, make sacrifices to have the life we want. But talking about money management can sometimes be oh so dull.
The Cent$ible Knight$ program and the Office of Student Success is changing that. They are hosting financial guru/comedian Colin Ryan as part of Financial Literacy Month.
Ryan presents ways to be smart about money in refreshingly funny and engaging sessions. He is speaking Thursday at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 with light refreshments being provided by FAIRWINDS Credit Union) at the Morgridge International Reading Center at UCF’s College of Education and Human Performance.
He is nationally recognized as a motivational speaker who uses humor to empower audiences. His goal: use humanizing honestly, hilarious anecdotes, pop culture references, and storytelling to teach how to manage finances and reach goals.
“This is not inherently a ‘fun’ topic,” said Karemah Manselle, associate director of the office of student financial assistance. “We wanted to present this in a different way, making it more relatable to students.”
RSVP here and check out the final session of the month’s financial-literacy program, a seminar on loan repayment on April 20.
