Through its Graduate Certificate program, the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida has gained a global reputation for preparing hospitality professionals worldwide for successful careers. Just ask 23-year-old British native Tina Patel, who was recently recruited by Europe’s largest leisure entertainment company, ASPRO OCIO Group, after completing the Graduate Certificate program at UCF’s Rosen College.

According to Patel, “during my recruitment interview, I expressed all the knowledge and experience I gained from the Rosen College program. The marketing director and the general manager, who interviewed me, both stated that it was my experience in the ‘heart of tourism’ that triggered their decision to recruit me.”

The intensive six-month Graduate Certificate program at UCF’s Rosen College offers international students continuing education courses in hospitality management, while also providing them with valuable industry work experience through a required internship at the world-renowned Walt Disney World® Resort.

Patel, who traveled more than 4,300 miles from the United Kingdom to study and work in Orlando, was recruited by ASPRO OCIO Group’s Bristol Aquarium to participate in its highly sought-after management training program, as a graduate sales and marketing executive.

“The graduate scheme I’m now participating in with Bristol Aquarium consists of training and development in marketing and management, as my role plays a key part in the senior management structure,” said Patel. “Whilst I was attending Rosen College, I studied how to strategically solve business issues and also learned the importance of customer satisfaction, which are both vital in my new marketing role.”

Once Patel completes her two-year training program, she will be responsible for all Bristol Aquarium’s visitor numbers and sales.

“Without the experience I received from Disney and Rosen College, I wouldn’t have the wonderful career opportunity that I have today,” Patel explained.
