The Ferrell Commons Carnival, held on August 27 as part of the 2010 Pegasus Palooza week, was once again a big hit. The event welcomed new and returning students with important information, music, games, cotton candy, popcorn, pizza and prizes.
Students began arriving at 2 p.m. and quickly filled the courtyard. Participating departments attracted students to their tables with games, refreshments, T-shirts and other giveaways handing out valuable information and stamping student’s raffle cards. Throughout the event, the Knightcast DJ provided beat thumping music while Beth Cooperman, a graduate assistant at Career Services, announced raffle winners and stirred up the crowd. Just across the courtyard there was a never ending line of students clamoring for blueberry cotton candy, which even Vice President Maribeth Ehasz couldn’t resist.
Career Services thanks all departments that participated and contributed to the event’s success and gives a special thanks to the Campus Activity Board for the loan of the popcorn and cotton candy machines. This event exemplifies what collaborative campus partnerships can and do accomplish.
Mayra Hoffman and Laura Crouch from Career Services coordinated the event and partnered with Student Legal Services, Student Conduct, Dispute Resolution Services, the Counseling Center, Health Services, Student Disability Services, Pre-Professional Advising, Experiential Learning, Aramark and Brooklyn Pizza.
