Guns N’ Hoses is coming to the UCF campus Wednesday.
That’s Guns N’ Hoses – not Roses – and that means it is the battle of the badges in a blood-drive challenge pitting Central Florida police/sheriff’s departments against the fire departments.
Those who donate also receive some perks. Everyone who donates blood during the UCF drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. can cast a vote for their favorite group: Guns (law enforcement) or Hoses (firefighters).
Donors will receive a free Guns N’ Hoses T-shirt, movie ticket and mini-physical.
The Big Red Bus, which is operated by Florida’s Blood Centers, will park next to the UCF Police Department on Libra Drive.
Central Florida goes through a lot of blood during the winter months because of the high number of trauma patients treated at hospitals this time of year, said Sgt. Troy Williamson of the police department.
Donors need to take a photo ID.
