Orlando Business Journal celebrated another group of Central Florida's businesswomen on March 27 at the Hilton Orlando hotel off International Drive. The 2024 Women Who Mean Business event honored professional women who bring success and growth to their companies, lead and make positive changes to their community — all while balancing their personal lives. Twenty-three women were honored at the 2024 awards celebration. Among them were UCF's Cyndia Morales Muñiz and Eunice Choi.

UCF is witnessing a surge in interest in robotics education, reflecting the growing opportunities in the field. Dwight Howard, head of the robotics club, emphasizes the accessibility of robotics and its broad applicability, from device automation to self-driving car technology. UCF officials note a significant increase in club membership, with current enrollment reaching up to 80 students, compared to the previous count of around 20. Crystal Maraj, adviser to the Robotics Club, highlights this growth, indicating a rising demand for robotics education among students at UCF.

Beyond thrilled to welcome Deputy Chief Robin Griffin-Kitzerow into Results-1 today. She joined UCF Police as deputy chief in March 2022 as the highest-ranking woman in the agency's history. Prior to UCF, she served the residents of Palm Beach County in several law enforcement capacities dating back to 1987, where she spent nearly three years as deputy chief at Florida Atlantic University Police Department and 20 years with the Palm Beach County School District. Griffin-Kitzerow is particularly passionate about school safety and threat management.

UCF‘s Board of Trustees approved the proposed expansion of the Roth Tower at FBC Mortgage Stadium. The stadium expansion is part of a new football campus, first proposed by UCF athletics director Terry Mohajir in 2021. The project includes building McNamara Cove and the Sharon and Marc Hagle Gateway, which will serve as an activation area on gamedays and provide an additional entryway to the football stadium. It also calls for building the Taylor A. Gerring Football Center. This two-story standalone football operations building will house football coaches’ offices, meeting rooms, and a student-athlete lounge. “This is another exciting day in the trajectory for UCF Athletics,” Mohajir said in a statement. “Not only will the new tower provide us with new resources, but this will also allow us to expand the premium offerings and entry-level seating options to maintain one of the most affordable tickets among the power four conferences in college football."
