A team of international students from the Rosen College Graduate Certificate in Hospitality Management program recently participated in the Orlando Start! Heart Walk at Loch Haven Park. They joined more than 11,000 participants who supported the American Heart Association event.
The Rosen College/Walt Disney World team included eight students who collectively raised $300 of the overall $1 million for research and education to help fight heart disease and stroke. The team wore Disney VoluntEARS shirts, adorned with a Rosen College pin.
International student Nicole Cutrufo felt that the experience was incredible. “This is something that we don’t see every day back in Europe. We were all together, among the thousands of Disney VoluntEARS walking for a beautiful cause and trying to contribute to the community that is generously hosting us. It was a pleasure and an honor to participate and to proudly represent the Rosen College.”
Cutrufo and her classmates are currently participating in an intensive six-month graduate program at Rosen College, exclusively for international students. Upon completion of coursework and an internship with the Walt Disney World Resort, each will be awarded a Graduate Certificate in Hospitality Management.
