On a day where millions of people celebrate love the Recreation and Wellness Center is proud to announce that one of their staff members was honored for her big heart. UCF honored Josefina Aleman, senior custodian RWC, as the USPS Employee of the Month of February 2011.
Co-workers recognized Aleman for her generosity and giving of her own time during a very emotional time for the RWC staff. During the past year Aleman’s supervisor courageously battled cancer, before passing away. Aleman would cover extra duties in the work place and the take her personal time to comfort and support this employee. She is bilingual and during this time she would assist with translating from Spanish to English for staff members still currently learning English.

Aleman’s peers also praised her work ethic during the RWC’s expansion in 2011; she was a true leader assisting the second shift with cleaning duties in the extra work space.
Aleman received a $25 gift certificate to spend on campus, a $200 bonus, a plaque and other prizes. She is eligible for the Employee of the Year Award, the winner takes home $2,500 and other prizes.
