University of Central Florida staff and faculty members and students can make a difference for children in the Bithlo-Christmas area this holiday season.
The Adopt-A-Child Program makes the holiday season brighter for children whose families cannot afford to purchase gifts for them. More than 30 children are still in need of sponsors as of Wednesday.
A listing of the children and their wish lists is available at Bithlo/Christmas Neighborhood Center for Families Adopt-A-Child Program. The unwrapped gifts must be ready for pick up by Thursday, Dec. 16. Monetary donations can also be made and tax receipts are available for gifts or money donated.
Facilities Operations staff members began this tradition seven years ago as a way to give to others in lieu of exchanging gifts with each other. Several other campus departments also adopt children through the initiative.
