On Monday, UCF students and alumni reserved all available tailgating spots on Memory Mall for the Knights’ home opener against Florida International University on Sept. 3.
All spaces were taken within a few hours of the new “Knights on the Mall” reservation system going live at 10 a.m. Monday.
It’s the first season students and alumni are able to reserve prime tailgating space on Memory Mall, where there’s a new slate of entertainment including food trucks, live bands in the Student Government Association tailgating area and giveaways for students.
The Student Government Association and the university have worked together, with support from the UCF Alumni Association and UCF Athletics, to develop the new tailgating experience that allows fans to reserve space rather than show up first thing in the morning to stake out a spot.
It’s possible that some fans who reserved spots may cancel their reservations. Monitor the Knights on the Mall Twitter and Facebook accounts for up-to-the-minute information.
Only spots on Memory Mall must be reserved. All other spots remain available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Reservations open at 10 a.m. Sept. 7 for Memory Mall tailgating spots for UCF’s second home game, against Furman University on Sept. 19.
