Two weeks ago, the Board of Trustees voted to move forward with a national search for UCF’s next president.
As board chair, one of my first tasks will be to form a presidential search committee of up to 15 members. The committee will have the very important responsibility of identifying finalists for the Board of Trustees to consider.
In finding UCF’s next leader, we must ensure our search is inclusive, collaborative and transparent and produces a diverse candidate pool that reflects our campus’ and community’s culture.
I would like to give you — our students, faculty, staff, alumni and community — the opportunity to recommend search committee members who would best represent UCF and our values and mission as a leading metropolitan research university.
Please send your recommendations to our Board Office at boardoffice@ucf.edu by 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10. All recommendations will be subject to Florida’s public records law.
As board chair, I will appoint committee members with ratification from the full Board of Trustees.
Once our search committee is named, I will share the members’ names with you and how you can stay updated on the search’s progress. I also will charge the committee with developing a plan for seeking your feedback on what qualities are most important to you in a presidential candidate.
I encourage you to submit recommendations for the search committee and to stay engaged throughout the process. Our search for a world-class leader will be stronger because of your contributions.
Go Knights! Charge On!
