UCF’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management hosted 70 employers at the Fall 2014 Career & Experiential Learning Fair on Thursday, Oct. 23. A record number of organizations from the hospitality and tourism industry were on hand to discuss full-time, part-time and internship opportunities with students majoring in hospitality management, restaurant management and event management.
“The fact that so many employers participated in this Career Fair shows that the industry’s commitment to our students is stronger than ever,” said Bradley Loomis, assistant director of employer relations for UCF Career Services at Rosen College. “Having such a wide variety of employers also showcases the diversity of opportunities in the hospitality industry and how many doors a Rosen College education can help open.”
This Career Fair also marked the debut of the Ready Room, a space where students could get their professional photo taken for LinkedIn, check their appearance and practice their elevator speech before meeting employers.
Rosen College students plan and execute the Career Fair every semester as part of a class project, handling every aspect of the event, including the theme, decor, marketing, promotion and lunch menu. The Fall 2014 Career Fair had a fall seasonal theme, anchored by the tagline, “A Season of Success.” In addition to applying the skills and techniques learned in class to a real-life event, students get an unparalleled opportunity to connect with the industry’s top companies.
