Scott Freeman ’11 is the second UCF Police Department officer to complete the 10-week program, which fewer than 1% of officers have an opportunity to complete.

The Interference, which runs Sept. 22 through Oct. 2 in the UCF Black Box, highlights issues of truth and power in the aftermath of an event that is often underreported on college campuses.

Rick Salcedo’s dedication to serving survivors, expertise on sex crimes and mentorship to officers has earned him the Champion of Change award from End Violence Against Women International.

The new officers include two UCF alumni who were also former UCF employees, along with a former professional basketball player and an officer with previous law enforcement experience.

This is the fourth time since 2013 UCF has received the designation from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation.

UCFPD Chief Carl Metzger ’03MS also reflected on his goals for the agency during the ceremony.

Robin Griffin-Kitzerow joins UCF after serving as deputy chief at Florida Atlantic University Police Department for three years.

The new officers include a professional fishing guide and a  former NFL player.

UCF’s Deputy Chief of Police David Zambri will now serve as the university’s new associate vice president and chief information security officer.
