Institutions that receive Military Friendly awards are recognized for their ability to help veterans succeed in the classroom and the real world.

In honor of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Month, here are an efforts focused on helping those affected by this condition.

UCF has long been a supplier of talent and partner in research for the U.S. military branches, as well as a supporter of local veterans.

Along with serving as a regional support center, UCF RESTORES will play a critical role in developing a statewide toolkit.

The winning projects, which received $25,000 each, were chosen for adhering to the year’s theme of strength, resolve and resilience.

The segment features UCF RESTORES, whose clinicians went to the site of the condo collapse in Surfside, Florida, to be a mental health resource for the first responders.

Faculty members of UCF RESTORES spent days supporting the mental health of first responders who are working to recover bodies buried in the rubble from the collapse of the Champlain Towers South condo building.
