This photograph was taken by Wendy Sun while traveling recently in Cuzco, Peru, the ancient capital of the Inca. The altitude of Cuzco is about 11,200 feet, and the interesting thing about this photo is the houses on the hill behind the church. Unlike in the United States and most of the world, in Cuzco the price of a house goes down the higher it is up the side of a hill. There is no road that leads to the top, so residents have to hike more to accomplish the tasks of getting water, buying groceries, and doing other chores.
