Talented students at the University of Central Florida will face off for a $5,000 scholarship in the fourth-annual Talented Knights showcase.
Talented Knights is open to the public, and tickets are on sale for $2 through the UCF Arena. Audience members will enjoy entertainment, raffles and giveaway items. The evening will begin with a pre-show at 6 p.m., and the formal competition will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, April 16, in The Venue.
Produced by Rosen College students and instructor Susan Lee, the competition showcases UCF students’ broad spectrum of talent while helping them gain valuable feedback from entertainment industry professionals and talent agents.
Judges include entertainment and talent executives from Walt Disney World Entertainment, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld, Orlando LIVE, Mascioli Entertainment Corporation and the John Casablanca Modeling Agency.
Audition opportunities are still available. The registration fee is $10 per act, and auditions will be held Thursday, April 15, in The Venue, behind the UCF Arena. The top 10 performers will be asked to compete in the Talented Knights showcase the following night. This is the first year that talent show winners will receive a scholarship prize from the Orlando Scholarship Organization. Additional prizes include a television spot on Orlando LIVE, a professional photo shoot, a stay at the Marriott Courtyard at Lake Buena Vista and gift certificates from Houlihan’s.
