UCF swept Conference USA Golfer of the Week honors, as announced by the conference Wednesday afternoon.
UCF junior Greg Eason has been named Conference USA Men’s Golfer of the Week after tying for sixth place at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational which featured five top 10 teams, 13 ranked teams and 23 individually ranked golfers.
UCF sophomore Monifa Sealy is this week’s Women’s Golfer of the Week after a top 10 finish at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. She helped the Knights to a second place team finish against a field that featured six ranked teams.
C-USA Men’s Golfer of the Week – Greg Eason, UCF, Jr., Leicester City, England
Eason tied for sixth place at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational played at the Isleworth Golf & Country Club in Windermere, Fla. He carded rounds of plus-two, one-under and plus-one. The tournament included 23 ranked players, eight top 20 teams – five in the top 10 — and 13 ranked teams overall. Eason recorded seven birdies and one eagle in three rounds. This is the sixth Golfer of the Week honor for Eason’s career and second of the season.
C-USA Women’s Golfer of the Week – Monifa Sealy, UCF, So., Glencoe, Trinidad & Tobago
Sealy finished in a tie for ninth place at Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Las Vegas. She helped the Knights to a runner-up finish as she shot one-under for the final two rounds of the tournament. Sealy paced UCF to its best finish of the fall and recorded her best result of the season to date. Sealy was extremely consistent during the final two rounds, carding three birdies and just two bogeys. This is Sealy’s first Golfer of the Week honor for her career.
