Help form the next generation of innovators and creators with a master’s in elementary education. Through this program, you’ll gain the skills and experience needed to excel as a specialized elementary educator.
UCF Online’s Master of Education in Elementary Education is created for educators with at least one year of teaching experience who hold a temporary or professional certificate in K-6 Elementary Education. Florida educators who are teaching on a temporary certificate can obtain their professional teaching certificate through this program upon successfully passing the Florida Teacher Certification Examinations (FTCE). Certified teachers who are interested in becoming subject matter experts can choose from several highly sought after endorsement and specialization options, including:
- Reading Endorsement (18 Credit Hours)
- ESOL Endorsement (15 Credit Hours)
- Gifted Education Specialization (15 Credit Hours)
- Exceptional Education Specialization (18 Credit Hours)
This program is designed for educators who are passionate about educating elementary students and want to build on their existing skills. INTRODUCTORY SEMINAR IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
Gain an overview of the MEd and MA in Elementary Education programs’ policies and expectations, and exploration of the teaching profession (professional organizations, accomplished practices, publications, issues and terminology).
MENTORING AND CLINICAL SUPERVISION OF PRE-PROFESSIONAL EDUCATORS
Learn how to supervise interns. For each senior intern and two junior interns you supervise, you will earn a Certificate of Participation which covers the cost of 6 credit hours of courses.
UNDERSTANDING THE GIFTED/TALENTED STUDENT
Explore characteristics of the gifted/talented students; theories and research; identification procedures; special problems; educational forces.
