Earn your K-12 Florida Reading Certification and Reading Endorsement

Further develop your skills as an educator, become a leader in the field of literacy and earn your reading certification with a master’s in reading education. This state-approved initial teacher program will equip you with the knowledge, expertise, and qualifications needed to become a specialized literacy professional.

UCF Online’s Master of Education in Reading Education is designed to bridge science-based reading research to educational practice. The program is aligned to the International Literacy Association’s Standards for the Preparation of Literacy Professionals (2017) with courses that examine a wide range of relevant topics for grades K-12 such as reading development, assessment, evidence-based practices for instruction and intervention for emerging, striving, and advanced diverse learners, reading trends and research, disciplinary and digital literacies, and literacy leadership and coaching.

Created for certified K-12 practicing or prospective teachers, our fully online program will enhance your professional knowledge and experiences and will prepare you for literacy leadership across sectors. Upon passing the Reading K-12 Subject Area Exam of the Florida Teacher Certification Examination (FTCE), Florida graduates will earn their Florida Teacher Reading Education Certification.
