Biography
Hi! I’m Melissa Cook. My background is in education, as I’ve always been passionate about learning. Once I earned my bachelor’s in English and Criminology from the University of Florida, I began my career teaching high school English. Eventually, I decided to switch gears and moved to Maryland to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University. Even so, I always knew I wanted to return to Florida. My favorite part about this role is getting the opportunity to work with students one-on-one, offering support, thoughtfulness, and strategy as they determine their individual needs. I love to be evaluative and to do things that make sense, and I’m always happy to help others do the same as they learn to fit school into the rest of their (often busy) lives.
