Livability encompasses many goals of the United Nations in achieving sustainable development. These goals include the overarching goal of creating a livable and more sustainable earth for future generations. UCF Downtown faculty research on climate change mitigation and laws, local government transparency and air quality fall into this category. Teaching projects have targeted such sustainable community endeavors such as seminars for local organizations that could use faculty and graduate students’ support through training sessions, partner-connecting databases and technical assistance. Service opportunities under this SDG include faculty serving as subject matter experts on impact projects to enhance food supply and environmental sustainability.
