Preparing for a Long-term Lunar Presence
NASA and space companies worldwide run critical tests using simulated space dirt, or regolith, developed by Space Resource Technologies at UCF’s Exolith Lab. The lab houses the world’s largest simulated lunar surface, allowing scientists to safely interact with lunar dust and prepare for a long-term presence on the moon.
Exolith Lab also gives UCF students hands-on experience conducting real research, working on projects to develop space-flight technology and collaborating with leading companies — where UCF graduates have gone on to hold both technical and leadership positions.
