A NOTE FROM ALUMNI
KEILA WALKER-DENIS ’07
Miami native Keila Walker-Denis ’07 has experienced many hurricanes, but interning with a local emergency management department as a student gave her a new perspective on natural disasters and other crises. The public administration and emergency management grad continues to build her expertise in the field while working for the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority and serving on UCF’s Emergency Management and Homeland Security Advisory Board.
“I love the pride that fellow Knights share knowing that we are all products from a world-class university with highly respected programs.”
FIVE SPACES TO CREATE, COLLABORATE AND INNOVATE
Looking for a quiet place to study, a cool spot to meet friends or a state-of-the-art outlet for your creativity? Here are five interesting spaces around campus to fuel big ideas and bright futures.
JOHN C. HITT LIBRARY
No one studies the same way you do, which is why it’s nice to have so many options for quiet and inspiring environments all over campus, including the newly expanded John C. Hitt Library.
GAMES AND INTERACTIVE MEDIA MAKER SPACE
The Games and Interactive Media Maker Space at UCF Downtown gives students access to Ultimaker 3D printers, Glowforge laser cutters, Oculus Quest virtual reality headsets and more.
MEMORY MALL
Go out on a limb — or a trunk. Take advantage of the palm trees on Memory Mall by hanging up a hammock and relaxing in the shade.
MEDITATION GARDEN
Located outside the Burnett Honors College next to the Student Union, the campus koi pond is the ideal spot to relax and gain serenity.
LAKE CLAIRE RECREATION AREA
